A patent is an exclusive right granted for an invention, which is a product or a process that provides a new way of doing something, or offers a new technical solution to a problem. That exclusive right granted by a country to the inventor, allowing the inventor to exclude others from making, using or selling his or her invention in that country during the life of the patent registration.
