Pendaftaran Trademark melingkupi 45 kategori. Ramai yang mendaftar selalunya tidak tahu akan perkara ini. Mereka ingatkan jika daftar satu trademark , ia akan lindungi semua aspek. Padahal mereka yang nak mendaftar, mereka perlu daftar mereka perlu memilih kategori yang di niagakan.
Selalunya saya akan nasihatkan pelanggan saya agar mendaftar juga dalam kategori trademark yang ramai orang tidak menitikberatkan iaitu, sebagai usahawan pastinya kita akan guna “bisnes kad, banner, bunting, flyers, letterhead, dan pelbagai lagi yang kita gunakan dalam kategori printed matters”.
Sayanglah jika kita guna tapi tak lindungi kerana sekiranya kita hanya daftar dalam kategori trademark yang kita niagakan sahaja, apabila pihak ketiga gunakan atau daftar di MyIPO, mereka boleh menyaman kita.
Pada saat itu, pada siapa lagi kita nak mengadu dan menangis. Kita boleh berniaga tapi kita tidak boleh membuat sebarang iklan dan pemasaran dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan bercetak.
